Information Overload and Personal Identity

Hi everybody, i'm enjoying dipping in and out of this forum and its one of my favourite places to come and browse so many interesting topics.

Because its so vibrant in here, it has caused me to wonder how to deal with all the info, barely a topic goes by that i dont want to follow. But the habit has formed now where i generally just look at the first page of new posts and the threads ive subscribed to. This suits me and my limited info capacity but i know there are so many topics that just float right by without me even noticing them.

So my point, to keep it short is, how does everybody deal with this? It seems to me that if you arrive here with a solid personal identity then hey not to worry about it all and take what is personally beneficial/interesting> However i can imagine people who do not have a sure footing could become bewildered and even depressed when faced with all this info action.

Any thoughts please?

Hi aroundthetable,

Not sure exactly what your question is, but what I do is just check the 'new posts' rather than going through subforums and old directories, only joining newer updated topics.

If I counted the amount of topics I've subscribed to on all forums I've ever been to, well, I can't, and that's the point... put no limits on interesting topics, doesn't matter if you don't digest every piece of it, just that you get the core of the matter.

Cheers

Hey sometimes I find myself in the same situation. It's really hard sometimes to

know all this information out there and not go mad with anger or fear. I have

taken a back seat to everything for that reason. I look at it like this, we are

all here to learn. This is not our first time on this planet and we have many more

lives ahead of us. I no longer focus on all the drama going on in the world,

because that is not what we are here for. We are here to grow spiritually and

learn to understand our reality and if you can just learn to love forgive and grow

without focusing on all the negativity you have advanced spiritually to were

you will not have to come back and play the same games. Basically you need

to focus inward rather then outward, that is how you truly grow.
