Anyone lost their taste for Dairy Milk?
 

Sorry to hear that Cadbury's has given way to Kraft's offer.

Yeah, sure it was all bluster about how they wouldn't consider selling to Kraft's paltry offer before Christmas... it's a true British brand (one of few left). But just up the offer per share a couple of quid and Kraft have got themselves a sweet sensation. Oh, and Cadbury's are suddenly apparently not too bothered about the jobs that will have to go.

I presume I'm not the only Brit a little sad at the passing of a bit more heritage.

Ok, it's true the chocolate's been watered and watered down since I was a kid. It's not like Kraft are getting a real 'quality' product (Although they do own Green and Blacks organic chocolate too). But it is something, that in an age of dried skimmed milk powder, cadbury's still use milk. (ok, I know milk is not healthy... but it is more so than dried skimmed, off-milk powder!)

Any other worlders who have not heard of Cadburys... this sale means that you soon will. Just as Nestle took over another English firm, Rowntrees, some years ago (... who invented the Kit Kat, Quality Street ((when they were quality lol )) the Fruit Gum and the Fruit Pastille )) , Kraft will no doubt have fun promoting this product around the world.

But I don't think I'll be buying anymore Cadbury's chocolate... :thumbdown:

P.S. Couldn't find how to post 'off-topic', so feel free to move, moderators ! but I somehow feel this is relevant in all the smoke and mirrors going on lately. One minute Cadbury's says, no way, this is a proper quintessential English brand, and we're not selling - the next they do. It's not that I'm quintessentially british, or connect to one country, but those that sell off the silver don't seem to be either...

Yah we got Cadburys down here in Canada, I didn't know kraft was in the chocolate biz though.

It says nothing to me about the humble chocolate bar and everything about the bottom line.

Give it 8 months to a year and they'll move it lock stock and smoking barrels to Hungry or Poland or Upchuckitstan.....bottom line is the only thing that counts for the share holders.

I always felt milk was used to aid in the growth of children. As a grown up, I don’t really see the need for milk. Besides, nature’s intentions for milk are for those particular mammals offspring. Why people still drink the milk from other animals as an adult is incomprehensible. I guess it has a part to do with brain washing, and the economic tricknology game. Convincing the masses they need animal milk and meat to stay alive, along with over eating…will always generate funds. If milk was really needed, put unemployed women to work by pumping out human milk.

I drink very little milk and when I do it's skim milk.

Milk is formulated for another animal, a cow. It's not human milk...it's cow's milk which is also loaded with chemicals.

powered milk is commonly used for backing and cooking. It's always fat free for fat doesn't dry very well. I keep powered milk on hand for emergencies.

Unfortunately I'm a coffee-aholic. I drink way too much coffee. If I don't drink coffee I will get a huge headache.

Did you also know Kraft is in the cigarette business with philip morris, or philip morris are in the snack food business. Ah the business of addictions to sugar, nicotine.. let see what else, and this is just a little taster so to speak

I did not grow up drinking any milk nor did my children......I do however utilize raw grass fed cream and butter and now raw goat kefir I make myself. It has only enhanced my health and after some years of not feeling nourished on raw veganism- we have used it to turn our health around....grew up vegan and my first 2 children were raised vegan for 4 years, it was only when we got into some dental issues that I added butter and it made a huge difference.
After that I got into NT/Price Pottenger and opened up my views.
I think raw grass fed dairy can be helpful for certain people- when my friend H. (a longtime fruitarian for over 25 years) developed cancer she tried numerous approaches and it wasn't until she met Aajounus and adapted raw primal and turned her health around (healing 100% from melanoma) that I bgan to take this issue more seriously.......we were worried for her at the time adapting that approach but I saw firsthand a woman's health and looks turn completely around.

I only go for high fat though..... and raw grass fed and fermented/cultured......great for my skin and waistline......as well as my hormones.......I would personally not go near commercial dairy products nor pastuerized dairy.....

My eating patterns have changed allot in the last year. I mostly breads

and pasta instead of meat. I drink about 7 cups of water a day. I cant

eat allot of meat anymore, it makes me sick and I go nuts for salad:original:, when two

years ago you couldn't get me to look at one.

Funny that... I had a similar experience last year...and the less you eat meat, the less you like it, and the more real salad tastes !

P.S. I feel it fair to mention that those who don't know the Cadbury's range, 'Dairy Milk' is the branded name of a chocolate bar... enjoyed by UK kids for decades... (no doubt you'll get to see the product soon enough!)

I've had a similar exp with meat. I used to love a big, thick juicy steak. Hamburgers, hot dogs, ect.

I now can barely eat half a skinless chicken breast. I've always loved salad. I try to avoid over doing the breads.

Yes, meat seems to be less now than before. I'm also eating more beans. Like baked beans, ect. Must be for the protein. I'm also eating more cheese than before. Swiss and cheddar. And more peanut butter too.

Perhaps it's psychological? Beans, peanut butter and cheese are all comfort foods. Meat is less of a comfort food unless it's an old recipe from childhood. I actually enjoy meatloaf now when before I was never found of it.

I've noticed myself making homemade bread more, making older recipes and chocolate chip cookies. I admit I'm under a lot of stress. But there seems to be something more than just stress to this.

Here comes the Kraft chocolate triangles :thumbdown: Very sad indeed. For me the saddest things is that Cadbury was a great philanthropist and the company really looked after its employees. Kraft are a multi billion dollar conglomerate.......say no more.

PS Did you know that in 1834, Mr Cadbury was so disgusted with the Gin addled British public he introduced hot chocolate as an alternative; what a guy!

Yes, I was wondering if I was the only one to spot this terrible irony. Certainly Cadbury's Chairman doesn't seem to pay too much mind...

funny how newspeak changes the value of words. If instead the word 'shareholder' was replaced with 'greedypants' in popular language... they would get away with this less !
