Video editing software

Hi

I am planning to make a few videos of some things I find while out and about, also, hopefully a video on making a power source working at almost unity.

What I need is any recommendations on free editing software that I could use to do this.

Any help is as always appreciated.

Ammit

Thanks for that, i see it is more geared towards pictures.

What I need is to load in a movie and edit it then save as a youtube or shareable file ready to play.

I am fed up with useing windows movie maker.

Thanks for the offer SG. I have downloaded Pinnacle videospin, it has a 15 day trial so will give me time to try it blah blah blah.

Re: Video editing software

Hi Ammit,

I use Avidemux for simple editing, cutting, and mainly for conversions. It's free and available for all major platforms. It doesn't have transition effects, but it comes with many useful processing plug-ins for de-interlacing, adding subtitles, cropping, resizing, adding logos / watermarks etc. and it can use avisynth scripts. And it exports files in the appropriate formats for online streaming services such as YouTube. It is here: http://fixounet.free.fr/avidemux/ A good alternative to this is Virtual Dub: http://www.virtualdub.org/

For effects and transitions I just discovered Debug Mode Wax (http://www.debugmode.com/wax/), which looks promising, but I haven't had time to play with it yet.

I also have bookmarked this: http://jaycut.com/ - it is an online video editor, but I also haven't used it.

Hope this helps a bit.

I make all video edits with Blender, and it's free too:
