Damn human science...LHC broke...AGAIN

http://www.theregister.co.uk/2009/12...failure_again/

This is fresh!!!

I see this as imagining of
(too proud and stubborn ignorant)
humans being Gods...:naughty:

Re: Damn human science...LHC broke...AGAIN

The particle accelerator I worked on 15 yrs ago was MUCH smaller, 300 mEV max.

But the very first thing installed was a bank of GE turbines, that turned generators. We relied on no outside power to operate. We sold power back to SoCal Edison, in fact.

But to be self-sufficient, the CERN collider would probably have to hollow out most of the Alps, to install enough turbines.

My guess, someone went for coffee and kicked the plug out :mfr_lol:

Fred

PS: In case anyone wonders, I worked for the (deep breath...)
Loma Linda University Medical Center - Radiation Research Labs - Proton Treatment Project
Try fitting all of that on one line in a resume ;)

Re: Damn human science...LHC broke...AGAIN

:naughty:

I have to be fair and say that efforts from various scientists are truly worthy.

BUT!!!

There are other scientists who are sheer stupid, I mean they want to find Hick`s boson and to prove that as God`s particle while , alas, the world of nature around them are poking their eyes !
How much more proof do they need???

A single grass or a weed is more complicated structure than anything a man has ever created, EVER!
And still we walk over the grass or root out weeds...:original:

There is plenty of evidence around us to see that creator exist or God exist... but when you are stupid ...there is no help :wall::nono::original:

I believe this huge machine is such a waste of money! I asked my guides to help stop the machine the 2st time they were about to try it out (as did many others on this planet) and it seemd to work! :lightsabre:

I think this machine is nothing but a big toy.

Really ?

I dont know what it is (well the ulterior motive part of it), but I do know I don't want it working :)

A..

I don't want it here either. But they are all so out of touch with their equipment and rockets and what-not,with the consequences, it reminds me of little kids with toy machine guns and death games on the t.v. and computer. It's a toy in a very dangerous game. They play with the world.

Not joking,

:thumb_yello:

...and yes, this "monster" will never work properly...if it is not for a highest good of the humanity...which obviously seem it isn't.

Hi Fredkc,

I think you were reffering to 300 MEGA ELECTRON-VOLT energy levels, because as you've been written, could be considered 300 mili Electron Volts :original:

I would rather thought of 300MeV

I think this helps reinforce the fact of the human race being watched over and somewhat protected from ourselves

I'm all for discovering things in the name of science. But I have to consider the National Ignition Facility. It's aim is to create fusion power...in essence...a star. This facility is inside the continental US. Yeah sure, the LHC is colliding particles but the NIF is creating a star. Which one would be the bigger bang if something REALLY bad happened?

I must say that I'm quite pleased it broke again. More bread crumbs in the parts or what?
