EU picks low-profile Belgian as leader

New EU President Herman van Rompuy, who had been serving as Belgium's caretaker prime minister, will be joined by another low-profile European, British peer Catherine Ashton, who was named Thursday the EU's foreign minister.

An interesting note: Catherine Ashton is a Sci-fi fan, and two years ago her husband gaqver a life-sized Dalek for her birthday. It now greets guests when they enter the house. :D

Tony Blair looks like he has a lot on his plate with the Iraq Inquiry. If you think about it, its a huge deal - and I really hope it gets down to deep, deep nitty gritty. Can you imagine the Americans calling up Dick Cheney, George Bush, Karl Rove with similar questions? Good on you all!
