Yes!! :wall:

None of my new posts for today show on "New Posts" for me. But evidently others see my posts...

On the "User CP," none of my posts for today show under "New Subscribed Threads."

Re: are you having problems posting

I believe this is something only Gareth can fix.
Nothing the moderators can do.
My test posts turned out fine.
So watch for Gareth to come back online and/or - send him a PM, fully explaining your problem.

Re: are you having problems posting

I use Minty "skin" for the forum rather than the default Avalon Electric.

Then in Minty at the bar at the top - far right is "quick links" and the top choice is "Today's Posts."

And everything is normal, but when I switch to Electric, then the "New Posts" do not show a view that I am used to at all. All my recent posts are not there.

This is something Gareth will have to fix.

Hi Everyone,

I also am having the same problem. It's making me frustrated too, but I'm sure it will be remedied soon. Also the space for the avatars is very varied, sometimes making the messages more difficult to read as there is only space for one word each line.

Best regards,

Steve

Re: are you having problems posting

I've noticed that when you click on new posts there is a list of several pages with a header informing that these threads have not been updated, yet they have.

It's probably just a temporary glitch.

Re: are you having problems posting

Over in the Avalon Lounge thread Bushycat just gave me another clue on the new posts problem that is being reported.

You can stay in the Avalon Electric skin, click the "Quick Links" button and from the drop down menu, your first option is "Today's Posts." And that works like we have come to expect when you click "New Posts."

Re: are you having problems posting

I've had no problems except sometimes it's not putting me on the last page of a multi-page, thread like it should. On the X-men thread it put me on page 8, in the lounge it put me 5 or 6 pages back from the last one.

I have reported this to Gareth.

Re: are you having problems posting

The new features are actually the ones I'm used to in vBulletin - partcularly in the electric skin/ Click on New posts and you see the new posts since you last logged on, and then you see posts that are recent that have had changes that you haven't viewed. I'm guessing based on your USER CP designation of how many days to cover. This was the way I did it as a moderator of a pretty active site. (not this one)

This has been a delight for me, but for others who are used to something else, probably not so great. This lets me know exactly what has been changed since I last logged on, and at the same time, if I didn't choose to view a thread on my last login, it posts it at the bottom.

To get rid of all of it, when you login to the main part (which shows how many users are online) you can choose to mark all threads as read.

LOL, I've never used New Post or Today's Posts, I go and look at everything manually, one by one. HaHa you can laugh at me now! Or admire my diligence, LOL

Reading this information makes me think again that I believe it would be useful to announce changes to members along with the reason for the change, etc. I think this would be very helpful and appreciated...

Right, good idea! Here I am a mod and for 2 days, I've been trying to figure this out. I love solving a good mystery, but had other plans for my time today.
That is a very reasonable suggestion Seashore.

I still do not see the New Threads I started today? Where are they?

Re: are you having problems posting

I see now that to follow up on my posts to see whether or not I have replies, I need to go to User CP, hit Quick Links, and scroll down to Subscribed Threads, under Miscellaneous...

I wonder if the people having problems are all using the same browser, I am having no problems either.

Tone3

Do you use Minty or Avalon Electric Blue forum skin?
Do you click "New Posts" or just go to the forum home page.

The problem happens for people using Electric blue and that click on "New Posts."

Alyscat posted some info that helps.
