google video is DEAD. What other video share do we have?

Hi.

There is no more upload option in the google video service.

what other ways to share video and films do we have? (exept youtube which limit the length of the movie to 10 min')

Photobucket allows video uploads. Unfortunately, I have not tried it out so I do not know the limitations. I just know I have watched videos there.

PhotoBucket:

* Video play length of up to 5 minutes. Video clips with a longer play length are truncated upon upload.
* Video file size of 100MB or less.

not enough to be usefull...

Vimeo
Upload 500mb/week (no mention of running length)

Motionbox is a video uploader that is available with a month's free trial. Upgrading to the full monty will set you back around $30 but with it you can upload and store unlimited numbers and sizes of videos.

Re: google video is DEAD. What other video share do we have?

I just tried Vimeo (won't load through IE without a Flash 10 upgrade), and Veoh (vids don't play without installing their evil toolbar), then I found Blip. There's not much going on in the way of networking there, but it seems nice and not at all commercial. Simple pages, good looking player, a little old tech I think. They allow up to 1gb files, which was what I needed for some 1hr TV shows. I was also able to embed them with no problem using their very simple code.

I've got a few files uploaded so now it loads a channel with the player:
http://shiftingdimensions.blip.tv/

If the videos show up in search engines, the channel aspect of this will make it better than Google.
And it's free.
