HR 875 - the end to organic farming as we know it?

I'm pretty sure this has been mentioned before, but I can't find it in the search engine. This is the bill that could bring an end to small farmers and organic farmers.

When you contact your CON gress person, here are good talking points
(thanks to pammatiti, who posted it on another group)

>You may use this as talking points for when you call your Reps/Congress
>I got the info for anyone who needs this, the bill is at links but I made it simple,
>PW
>This is what is wrong with the bill:
>THis will require all individual farms, organic or non to be under a ****
>load of regulations and they will never be able to bring us organic foods. This makes you and I, small gardeners for our families to be under this ridicules law as well.
>PW
>
>THe below is found in Section 3
>It defines what is considered a "food production facility"
>
>(14) FOOD PRODUCTION FACILITY- The term ‘food production facility’ means any farm, ranch, orchard, vineyard, aquaculture facility, or confined animal-feeding operation.
>
>Here it states you do not have to sell food but just hold it,
>this means, after you plant it in your soil and hold it in your house or barn, you will have to register or face penalties or fines- see Enforcement and Prohibited Acts section.
>
>SEC. 202. REGISTRATION OF FOOD ESTABLISHMENTS AND FOREIGN FOOD ESTABLISHMENTS.
>
>(a) In General- Any food establishment or foreign food establishment engaged in manufacturing, processing, packing, or holding food for consumption in the United States shall register annually with the Administrator.
>
>(b) Registration Requirements-
>
>(1) IN GENERAL- To be registered under subsection (a), a food establishment shall submit a registration or reregistration to the Administrator.
>
>
>
>These are the laws that each and every "food production facility"
>will be subject to: (this means you and me who plant and grow our own veggies and fruits and every small organic or non organic farmer)
>TITLE IV--ENFORCEMENT
>
>Sec. 401. Prohibited acts.
>
>Sec. 402. Food detention, seizure, and condemnation.
>
>Sec. 403. Notification and recall.
>
>Sec. 404. Injunction proceedings.
>
>Sec. 405. Civil and criminal penalties.
>
>Sec. 406. Presumption.
>
>Sec. 407. Whistleblower protection.

>Sec. 408. Administration and enforcement.

its true..

i made a post on this a couple weeks ago.

pretty messed up....

BUT~

I believe only the "lemmings" who will never wake up are the ones who will cooperate with such madness.

The majority of Us,
will go on doing what we do,
growing helthy food and medicine...

I dont care what anyone says,
they are not going to stop it.

Here is my post..

Organic food is the key to our strength both physically but spiritually :original:
Of course they want to take it away...without it we will be weak and more easily manipulated :wall:

I will be buying pure authentic fertile seeds this coming weekend to start my veggie patch.

I am hoping the cold snap will pass soon, because I am getting very bitchy with it by now.:mfr_lol:
