It's a landslide Rocky!
In Indiana Obama although behind has already made gains. Election tracker here and you can check state by state to see county figures. http://edition.cnn.com/ELECTION/2008/results/president/ |
Re: Election results!!!
Does that mean a McCain win. I remember when Michael St Clair stated that he saw Palin as President - it seems a while since MSC has been here.

Re: Election results!!!
Hmmmm, maybe George Green is wrong...

Re: Election results!!!
Eh no. Early states are 'red' historically and if you view the tracker I posted and compare to 2004 you will see Obama is going to win Indiana and North Carolina. Add all the big coastal states with the mega college votes and this is going to be a big Obama win. Only time will tell if that's a good or bad or indifferent thing.
|
Re: Election results!!!
Looks like we may have taken obama for granted folks....
I don't count him out yet though, nor do i think any candidate would be a positive influence. |

Anyway, right now its 3-16 Mccain leading. But they need 270 votes to win. It's too early to tell. You know it's been explained to me before but I still don't really understand the electoral college. |
Re: Election results!!!

Voting glitches spark lawsuits
Delays and missteps lead to disputes, but most voters take it all in stride http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/27534128...ionNightWidget |
Re: Election results!!!
Look out, Obama the baby killer is on the rise.

Re: Election results!!!
A considerate edit exchanger, cheers.
CNN just called Penn. Game over. Below is a link of Clinton prez pardons as posted elsewhere by me. Gives an idea of what Dubya's job entails for the rest of the year. 2001 has Marc Rich, Pincus Green and the enigmatic Adolph Schwimmer. Also Fife Symington familiar to UFO obs and a lotta folks from Arkansas. |

Re: Election results!!!
I'm glad for you Orion.
I hope we all remmember to temper any thoughts of retribution against perceived negative Obama posters. They said what they thought and felt which is cool. Now we have to move on and forward together. Dems are going to have a lot of power from Jan and we're all in this together. |
Re: Election results!!!
Okay I love country music , I know why the republicans lost. I'm listening to Hank Williams Jr. and my ears are hurting this guy is deaf tone, so much for positive frequencies through music. Ouch Hank you are hurting my ears !!!:naughty::shocked: Go Hank go, just don't sing you making me cry:lmfao::naughty:

Re: Election results!!!
These aren't real election results, just projections based on the results of the precincts that have announced their results. Many of these states that are projected only have 20-30% of precincts reporting. If you open your browsers to several news sites you'll notice that.
|
Re: Election results!!!
You're quite right Shellie. I posted the CNN link because it allows you to check by county also as well as compare to 2004.
If you tally guaranteed states blue and red (I don't like those terms either) Obama is going to win. As Ive said earlier whomever wins should be held fast against their campaign promises and there should be no recriminations. |
Re: Election results!!!
Wow.. McCain is leading Nebraska by SIXTEEN VOTES!!! (according to CNN)
|
Re: Election results!!!
Here in the UK it's 3am, but I'm still up, watching the US election results. We don't have anything like the campaigns and elections that you have - so it's quite intriguing :original:
What we have here is 207 for Obama and 135 for McCain. Those presenting the results are both English and American, with commentary from a mixed UK/USA sort of informal panel. Of course, as our system doesn't work anything like the USA I haven't a clue what a College vote is, or how it all works. Still, they are saying that although they are speaking in terms of projections, they would be extend into reasonably accurate figures because there is far more caution when giving these out because of the last electoral problems. Or something like that:original: It is 3am, after all :lol3: |
Re: Election results!!!
Hey Shellie here's your chance to make a projection .
What do you think , McCain or Obama.:naughty: Texas is not going to be the same. If UT had 50,000 students with Obama is going to increase to 80,000 wow!!! Watch out Austin !!!:thumb_yello: |
Re: Election results!!!
Hah hah, if you look at the county map, Austin (Travis county) is blue and everything around it is red.
But honestly, I think here in Austin Ron Paul won... :P |
Re: Election results!!!
:mfr_omg::mfr_omg::mfr_omg: what election ????
. |
Re: Election results!!!
Allie: Basically, the people do not vote in the election, the states do. The weight of each state is based on its population (winner takes all). The electoral college is the actual vote for president- individuals in the EC pledge to vote for the candidate who gets the simple majority vote in their state. If 50.1% of people vote for candidate A and 49.9% vote for candidate B, then candidate A gets the entire weighted vote of the state.
In light of the last few elections the system seems stupid because the winner isn't necessarily the one who wins the majority vote. But this is the way it is set up in order to preserve the rights of the states (which are responsible for preserving the rights of their residents). I personally think it is still stupid (especially the winner takes all part). |
