This is soooo funny.

Driving Under The influence on a John Deere Lawnmower

Reminds me of someone down the road that drives a riding mower to the store to buy beer. He's been lucky so far....

Well, the DUI charge is not funny...

Well this is my 1st go in the lounge also and I had some questions I would like answering :

Why the sun lightens our hair, but darkens our skin?
Why women can't put on mascara with their mouth closed?
Why you don't ever see the headline: "Psychic Wins Lottery"?
Why "abbreviated" is such a long word?
Why Doctors call what they do "practice"?
Why you have to click on "Start" to stop WindowsXP ?
Why lemon juice is made with artificial flavour, while dishwashing liquid is made with real lemons?
Why the man who invests all your money is called a "Broker"?
Why there isn't mouse flavoured cat food?
Who tastes dog food when it has a "new & improved" flavor?
Why Noah didn't swat those two mosquitoes?
Why they sterilize the needle for lethal injections?
Why they don't make the whole plane out of the material used for the indestructible black box?
Why sheep don't shrink when it rains? (AWESOME!)
Why they are called apartments when they are all stuck together?
If con is the opposite of pro, is Congress the opposite of progress?
Why they call the airport "the terminal" if flying is so safe?

I am open to all answers :mfr_lol:

Iain

Re: _AVALON LOUNGE_ Open 24 hours

An oldie, but still a goodie.

Nelson Mandela is sitting at home watching TV and drinking a beer when he hears a knock at the door. When he opens it, he is confronted by an Oriental gentleman, clutching a clip board saying, "You sign please." Behind him is an enormous truck full of car exhausts.

Nelson says to him, "Look, you've obviously got the wrong man," and shuts the door in his face. The next day he hears a knock at the door again. When he opens it, the little Oriental gentleman is back with a huge truck load of brake pads. He thrusts his clipboard under Nelson's nose, saying, "You sign please."

Mr. Mandela is getting a bit hacked off by now, so he pushes the little man back, shouting, "Look, go away! You've got the wrong man. I don't want them!" Then he slams the door in his face again.

The following day, Nelson is resting, and late in the afternoon, he hears a knock on the door again. On opening the door, there is the same little man thrusting a clipboard under his nose, saying, "You sign please." Behind him are TWO very large trucks full of car parts.

This time Nelson loses his temper completely, he picks up the little man by his shirt front and yells at him, "Look, I don't want these! Do you understand? You must have the wrong name! Who do you want to give these to?"

The little Oriental gentleman looks very puzzled, consults his clipboard, and
says,

(It's a beauty)

(Wait for it)

(Get your best Oriental accent ready)

"Oh,you not Nissan Main Deala?" :D

Yes, welcome nagual. :welcomeani: Be warned though, sometimes this place is bedlam - weird animals, :eyes: shape shifters :rm_robot: and a whole bunch of weirdos :insane: at times. That's why I spend a fair amount of time under tables. The cocktails are colorful and pack a punch that would K/O King Kong. :drink_nl: As for the menus, they are beyond imagination.

All in all though, we're a pretty harmless bunch and get along harmoniously. :gathering: We have floor shows periodically and are currently waiting for futureyes to give us all a treat with her accordion playing expertise. (Or should that be expertease?) :original:

Don't be afraid to join in and have a bit of fun. :drinks_wine: :punk:  :band:

This is no place to be bashful. :nono:

Welcome Nagual and Iain140285!

:lol3: love your questions Iain, will ponder some of those... hmmm

I have 1 to add to the list that has always puzzled me (sorry this might only make sense to australians):

Why are all Yellow Cabs Orange??

I definately think they should paint them all yellow or else change their name to Orange Cabs!

Iain by the way if your name is referencing your birthday... that makes you a:

Oh... and Future Eyes you are welcome to play that accordian in here anytime.. I didn't mean to imply that accordians aren't sexy :naughty:

Re: _AVALON LOUNGE_ Open 24 hours

THE SPOILED UNDER-30 CROWD!!!

If you are 30 or older
you will think this is hilarious!!!!

When I was a kid,
adults used to bore me to tears
With their tedious diatribes about how hard things were.

When they were growing up;
what with walking Twenty-five miles to school every morning...
Uphill...
Barefoot...
BOTH ways.

Yadda, yadda, yadda

And I remember promising myself
that when I grew up,
There was no way in hell
I was going to lay
A bunch of **** like that on kids
about how hard I had it
And how easy they've got it!

But now that...
I'm over the ripe old age of Thirty,
I can't help but look around and notice the youth of today.

You've got it so easy!

I mean, compared to my
Childhood, you live in a damn Utopia!
And I hate to say it but you kids today you
Don't know how good you've got it!

I mean, when I was a kid
we didn't have The Internet.
If we wanted to know something,
We had to go to the damn library
and look it up ourselves,
in the card catalogue!!

There was no email!!

We had to actually write
Somebody a letter, with a pen!

....Then you had to walk all the way across the street
and put it in the mailbox
and it would take like a week to get there!

There were no MP3's or Napsters!

You wanted to steal music,
you had to hitchhike to the damn record store
and shoplift it yourself!

Or you had to wait around all day
to tape it off the radio and the D.J.'d
usually talk over the beginning and @#*% it all up!

We didn't have fancy **** like Call Waiting!

If you were on the phone
and somebody else called they got a busy signal, that's it!

And we didn't have fancy Caller ID either!
When the phone rang,
you had no idea who it was!
It could be your school,
Your mom, your boss, your Bookie, your drug dealer,
a collections agent, you
Just didn't know!!!

You had to pick it up and take your chances, mister!

We didn't have any fancy Sony Play Station video games
with high-resolution 3-D graphics!
We had the Atari 2600!

With games like, 'Space Invaders' and 'Asteroids'.
Your guy was a little square!
You actually had to use your Imagination!!
And there were no multiple levels or
Screens, it was just one screen
Forever!

And you could never win.

packman--didn't move slow - it moved very fast !!!

The game just kept getting harder and harder
and faster and faster until you died!

Just like LIFE!

You had to use a little book called a TV Guide
to find out what was on!

You were screwed when it came to channel surfing!
You had to get off
Your ass and walk over to the TV
to change the Channel
and there was no
Cartoon Network either!

You could only get cartoons on Saturday Morning.
7;00 am felix the cat
8;00 am scobby do
(that was it !!!)
you washed your breakfast dishes by hand,
dried them, with a towel, and, even put them away,
without having to be told, to do it

then at 9am; in the good weather,
you put together a packed lunch
and, then, got on your damn bike
and, rode it, as fast as you could
to your secret hideout,
back then most children were NOT SEEN,
nor, WHERE they heard LOL
they disappeared for the whole day

and, approx.
one minute before 5pm,
you rode in -- and, there was NO way
for anyone to find you --
or,for anyone to track you --
you went out, and, you did stuff

in the winter,
you walked to the skating rink,
put on your skates, out in the freezing cold,
and, you skated for 4 hours, b4 you came home
you had lunch, and, then,
you went out for anothe 4 hours

Do you Hear what I'm saying!?!

We had to wait ALL WEEK

For cartoons, you spoiled kids.
(and, we only got 2 hrs of them)

And we didn't have microwaves.

If we wanted to heat something up
we had to use the stove....

Imagine that!

That's exactly what I'm talking about!

You kids Today have got it too easy!

You're spoiled.

You guys wouldn't have lasted
Five minutes back in 1980!

Regards,
The over 30 Crowd!
(Send this to someone you'd like to make smile,

Whether they are under 30 or not.)

ps; could someone pass the peanuts !!!! LOL

Oh how true eXchanger. How true, how true!

I was beginning to think that I was just a grumpy old man.

Another thing that's happening nowadays, is crime, crime and more crime. Why, because the useless, brainless twits today can't think for themselves and with too much time on their hands they are stuffing everyone's enjoyment of life by stealing what they want because it's easier than working - that's if they were even capable of holding down a job.

There is one question I would ask in all seriousness - how are they going to survive when the electricity generators go belly up and nothing electrical will work?????
