Ouch Karen is hard to say goodbye, too many good wonderful souls are leaving .

Thank you, thank you so much everyone for your kind thoughts and meaningful gestures. I wish I had the energy for more individuated replies. Ummmmm maybe tomorrow, maybe not. This place is quite addicting. Cold turkey may be the only way out. Whoopee - we change to daylight savings time tonight. Must get away from the computer.

Good luck Karen. I remember you since you were a heart of gold.. I remember when you became a moderator.

Many changes, it's true, but perhaps the real truth is that the time is coming to s**t or get off the pot. Avalon has achieved its purpose. There are the people we wanted to meet. Right there. If we wanted a community we can get their addresses.

Everything else is just ego and defence of ego.

Yours won't be the last goodbye thread, but I am glad the forum is leaving us and not the other way around.

I'm sorry to see you go Karen. Many hugs to you. You have always been fair and level headed. You will be missed. I agree that there has been a systematic tearing apart of this forum in the past couple of months.

Enjoy the time away. Maybe I will participate more when the energy changes, or on another forum.

If anyone knows of a good one, pm me and I will check it out.

Yep, and the full size wedding cake bride is also a 'monument' to 'weedings'. (and I even learned a new word, rick-rack.. so it's even educational).

(I'll let you into a little secret, can't seem to get images to work from the site in general - or there'd be a lot more pictures of cake around from me :original: So I go to google images and hunt there.. that seems to work...)

I'm telling you, it's the perfect antidote to all things at the moment. And it hasn't caused one argument yet. Perfect. When I first saw no caste's post over a week ago i went to check out the site and I have not laughed so helplessly in ages.

That site should have a health warning, because the more you look, the more you lose the ability to breathe for simultaneous laughing and crying and loss of bladder functions...

Anyway, some will say this is a waste of time and off-topic. But to them I say, how can anything that makes you laugh so much be unimportant??

If I can make anyone smile, I'll gladly do that just now. We all need it.

Without laughter, what are we alive for?
