Re: What are YOU doing to help?
As a 'sustainable mandala quilt artist' I am using my particular form of expression to build community and teach skills I have found useful in tapping into my own creativity as well as building a foundation of balance and clarity from which to operate. Things like 'playing' with various forms of media at community events and inviting others to create mandalas. This symbolic representation of the community it represents is fun to see and I like to use paper plates for the canvas. We then tie the plates together to make a giant paper-plate 'yo-yo' quilt to appreciate for a while, then to reflect the transient nature of all things, the paper-plates are offered as a blessing to the compost pile of the community garden. This is just one of my projects at the moment! This evening I hope to manage to create a 'gallery' on my website where I can share some of the mandalas and invite others to do the same. I'm looking forward to finishing that task and sending invitations soon.
