So now the scale the judge is judging your judgment on how , when, and where you judge:lmao::lmao: Remember to
judge as you are told.:lol3: Did you get points deducted for this lack of judgment on your part :mfr_omg: I feel it is just setting people up for division and self censoring. I feel strongly about censoring the scales as antiquated relics of duality and strife.:trumpet::trumpet::trumpet::tongue2:

If that is too much to ask, at least announce to the forum that the change is being made and why...

I was wondering what the green dot meant, and was trying to find the answer in the forum rules, when I noticed this thread!

I really hope that the voices of Avalon are heard, and taken in consideration.

To remove the reputation thing, when it was removed along time ago. I think it was Kerry's idea. It should be removed again!

Not it's not because of Firefox, it is because I use the Minty forum skin. I see a heart instead of scales.

Default is Avalon Electric. If you want something cooler on the eyes Minty is the way to go. If you can't read the lighter colored type in Minty, just select the area, then you can read it. The button is on the bottom left. To switch back the button moves to the bottom right.

Re: have you people noticed the judgement

I see everyone who has anything to say on the matter does not like this new reputation thing. But in the mean time ... I've located it in the FAQ

What is reputation?
Reputation is a way of rating users depending on the quality of their posts. If the administrators have enabled reputation, then the reputation icon will be visible in posts.
Reputation may be positive http://www.projectavalon.net/forum/i...tation_pos.gif , negative http://www.projectavalon.net/forum/i...tation_neg.gif or neutral http://www.projectavalon.net/forum/i...on_balance.gif. Negative reputation may only be given if the administrator has enabled this. Neutral reputation is only given when the person giving reputation does not meet the criteria set by the administrator to affect someone else's reputation.
How do I give reputation?
To give reputation, click on the reputation icon in the relevant post. This will reveal a form to complete with the reputation type and the reason for giving the reputation. If negative reputation is disabled then it will not be displayed in this form. You may not give reputation for the same post twice.
How do I know what reputation I have received?
You can view the reputation that you have received in your User CP (User Control Panel) where it is displayed at the bottom of the User CP page. Here you will see the latest reputation that you have received and whether this is positive, negative or neutral. Your total reputation will be shown as series of reputation indicators in your posts and profile. The more positive your reputation, the more positive icons will be shown. The more negative your reputation the more negative icons will be shown.
How much reputation is given? What is reputation power?
If the administrator has enabled this, the amount of reputation that each user will give (or take away if negative) is shown in the user's posts as 'Reputation Power'. The value of the reputation power is determined by the administrator and may increase over time depending on the settings they have applied.
What if I don't want anyone to see my reputation?
You can disable the display of your reputation by going to your User CP and selecting Edit Options. On this page you will find a check box labelled 'Show Your Reputation Level'. Un-checking this box will remove the display of your reputation and replace it with the Reputation Disabled icon. You can still give and receive reputation while your reputation display is disabled.

Re: have you people noticed the judgement

If we give people what they want...and tell people what they want to hear...does this increase the odds of being green? Does being thought provoking...contrarian...or just plain provoking...increase the odds of being red? Is quality, accuracy, and originality being evaluated? Is this a popularity contest? If I'm red...does that mean that I am being placed on yet another list? Will they come and get the red box people first? Are we making a mountain out of a box?

Re: have you people noticed the judgement

well, IMHO, it's pretty artificial. Friends who think someone has philosophical beliefs that agree with them will give a positive feedback. And the converse is also possible. Reps may be more beneficial on highly technical forums, where you have a specific, measurable in 3D outcome. Here it's more or a personality and a "who believes the same way I do" issue.

Given that, the most important thing, IMHO, is to read the posts and make your own mind up as to whether the information is valid for you or not.

I just checked my "User CP" (control panel) and I found 2 kudos and who they were from. Nice stroke for the ego.

I wouldn't mind seeing how this might evolve and I also see the downsides.

What happened to being beyond ego:zip:

Re: have you people noticed the judgement

OK - more than just ego - positive feedback to know what is appreciated by others. And is the ego really all that bad? Can we live a multiversal life? Ego is OK when in it's proper place and going beyond ego is OK too.

Re: have you people noticed the judgement

There is something to be said for a good old pat on the back every now and then. My only concern is that it's going to affect the way some people might or might not post.

I like the focus on this forum and I guess I'm fearful of seeing it go down the tubes the way so many others have.

come back on later and by name is in the list of ones logged on. Not all the

There is a lag time (don't know the proper term) where you appear logged in for 3600 seconds or 1 hour.
